The best beaches on the Costa Tropical

Less than 30 min drive:

La Rijana is our favorite beach so far. It's a snorkeling paradise, you can rent SUP, there is a small restaurant and even the ruins of a XVI c. castle built on a Nazari fortification. The area was actually inhabited since prehistoric times due to a fresh water spring and myrtle-a spice used before the introduction of pepper.

Playa Del Peñón: have fresh local fish & seafood at one of the cozy chiringuitos. Taste the "leche rizada" at Perandrés, the Icecream place to be.

Playa Cantarrijan: this is a naturist one. Probably the most beautiful one of the Granada region!

More than 30 min drive:

On the way to Malaga, you will find la caleta de Maro, a small natural beach. Right next to it at la playa de Maro, you can rent SUP and kayaks at and paddle to the waterfall. Have a cocktail at Rincon del Sol lounge bar at the white sandy beach Playa de Burriana.

Within a 2h drive in the direction of Almeria, you will enter the Cabo de Gata National Park. Snorkel in the Recifes de la Sirena (mermaid reefs) at Cala Arena, walk on the golden sandy beach Playa de los Genoveses, hike up the magnificient yellow dune of the black sandy Playa Monsul take a swim in the shallow water.
