The Sierra Nevada is one of the 2 national parks in Andalusia. In addition there are 22 Natural Parks and 9 Biosphere Reserves. The Protected Natural Area is actually 30.5% of the total area of Andalusia.
The views out here is always spectacular but also always very different depending if you are walking at sunset, riding your bicycle downhill or gallop on your horse along the hills and through the rivers.

Due to a very low population density, roads are not busy at all here in the Province of Granada. And since the day the motorway was finished, every secondary and mountain road became a real hidden gem for motorbike speed lovers and bicycle asphalt enthusiasts. From our village, ride the 10km Albunelas circuit or go to the beach through a majestuous antic royal road. One of the most famous circuit of the region is the Pico Veleta: From 810m above the sea in Granada to the 3367m Top of Sierra Nevada, you will ride 44.3km with spectacular views. There are thousands of itineraries including through the Alpujarras villages on Wikiloc. You can also rent Dirt Bike and Quad tours with Aventura Alpujarra.
Only a 45 min drive from Casas Mundo Sol y Luna, you can ski 110km easy, medium & expert slopes of the Sierra Nevada from November to April. Don't forget your sunscreen as you will be going up to 3,300 m with over 300 days of sunshine. Towards the end of the season you can be surfing on snow high up in the mountains in the morning and relax at one of the beaches at Costa Tropical in the afternoon on the same day. Just unique!
Like a bird, you can fly over the majestic Alhambra and over the blue sea with Draco Paragliding on a paramotor tricycle. What an extraordinary experience. Or would you prefer a peaceful tandem flight over the spectacular mountain & canyon landscape of the Sierra Nevada, no problem!
You can also register in the paragliding school and get your pilot license for paragliding yourself. There are many spots in Andalusia to practice and fly on your own.
